LCC Technician I - Downey, CA

COMPANY BACKGROUND
Astro Pak is the nation's leading precision cleaning and passivation contractor specializing in on-site cleaning of high purity gas and fluid systems, as well as precision cleaning of components and hardware at the company’s Cleanroom facilities. POSITION OPPORTUNITY
The LCC Technician I is responsible for the entire receiving, pre-clean, packaging, and shipping of all large and heavy component jobs in the cleanroom. This position would be responsible for disassembling and assembling parts based off customer specifications.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Ability to perform all aspects of the cleaning process including but not limited to: pre-clean, lab assistance, packaging, shipping & receiving
• Receive and Inspect all parts for large and heavy component jobs
• Handle solvent
• Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving Department
• Collaborate with the Lab Department
• Upkeep of LLC Area to cleanroom standards
• Disassemble/assemble parts based off schematics
• Assist with customer audits and visits
• Use and maintain calibrated equipment
• Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
• Assist other technicians and departments as needed
• Compliant with all training, quality, compliance and safety policies, practices and procedures
• All other responsibilities assigned by Lead or Manager

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Related Experience: Manufacturing and/or cleanroom experience. A year of experience within Astro Pak preferred.

Overtime: Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required. 10-20% overtime to be expected.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to read and understand work instructions from Production Management System (ICMS), documents, correspondence and memos.
• Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
• Ability to wear a respirator as needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Forklift License must be maintained
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent. 
• Moderate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws

Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals and disagreeable odors
• Noisy conditions periodically
• Wet or humid conditions (indoors)
• Will be exposed to parts that are of extreme temperatures of 125-170 degrees for hour at a time for specific jobs
