Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Product Program Manager or Senior Product Program Manager – Product Support to join our Cabin Electronics Product Group in Kirkland, WA.

The Cabin Electronics Product Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of in-seat power systems for the commercial airline industry. The group’s EmPower® product line provides a variety of scalable power solutions for aircraft passenger cabins and flight decks. The system is used by over 280 airlines, IFE suppliers, and all major aircraft OEM manufacturers worldwide.
JOB SUMMARY
Manages change and improvement activities for assigned moderately complex, moderate-volume production products. Develops a strong technical understanding of assigned products and leads transitions from development to production, as well as product end-of-life management. Drives process and design improvements to enhance production yield and field reliability while reducing costs. Leads or supports failure investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Lifecycle Management
- Leads new product transitions from development to production, determining manufacturing requirements and build plans.
- Supports full product lifecycle management, including end-of-life and obsolescence.
Product Changes & Improvement
- Manages change activities for assigned products, ensuring effective planning, communication, and resource allocation.
- Oversees data analysis and testing to support customer approvals of changes.
- Participates in Change Control Board and manages obsolescence and lead-time risks.
Production Yield & Reliability Management
- Monitors and reports on production yield, implementing proactive measures to resolve issues in Operations and with suppliers.
- Leads cross-functional teams to improve yield, testability, and product reliability.
- Tracks and reports field performance, addressing quality escapes and failures to meet MTBF or similar targets.
Failure Investigations
- Leads or supports root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Analyzes field return data to identify failure trends and drive resolutions.
- Leads Failure Review Boards for assigned products.
Cost & Budget Management
- Tracks performance to budget for production programs and product modifications (MODs).
- Identifies and leads cost-reduction initiatives for assigned products.
- Reports status and progress of cost-improvement efforts to management.
Schedule & Risk Management
- Develops and monitors schedules for product MODs and support engineering efforts.
- Ensures on-time completion of customer and internal milestones, tracking action items and managing risks/opportunities.
Customer & Cross-Functional Communication
- Facilitates customer approval of product changes and work transfers.
- Supports regular customer communication as needed.
- Develops and maintains a reasonable technical understanding of assigned products.
- Mentors team members and contributes to process improvements.
Process Improvement & Administration
- Supports and leads continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization and documentation.
- Manages data, presentations, and status reports for internal teams, cross-functional departments, and customers.
- Oversees documentation release and configuration management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: BS/BA degree from an accredited institution; however, eight (8) years of experience in program management, operations, engineering, procurement, or related fields may be considered in place of degree.
- Experience:
- Demonstrates competency (typically five (5) to seven (7) years of direct experience) with the above duties and responsibilities for consideration as Product Program Manager.
- Demonstrates proficiency (typically eight (8) or more years of direct experience) with the above duties and responsibilities for consideration as Senior Product Program Manager.
- Leadership: Four (4) years collaborating with multi-discipline teams.
- Industry Experience: Aerospace industry experience highly desired.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Product Program Manager base salary range is $102,687 - $154,031 per year.
Senior Product Program Manager base salary range is $122,003 – 183,004.
Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.
