Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Product Program Manager or Senior Product Program Manager– Product Support to join our Airborne Power Control Team in Kirkland, WA.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Customer Management: Primary customer point of contact for programs; negotiates price and delivery in cooperation with contract administrator; seeks customer feedback; resolves problems; able to take a leading role in price and delivery negotiations on complex programs; manages customer expectations and communications to reduce risk to the company; regularly communicates with mid and upper level management within customer organizations; creates and maintains business relationships to gain follow-on business.
- Contract Management: Understands contractual obligations and communicates contract requirements to other organizations inside and outside the company: monitors program, customer and delivery performance compared to contract scope, and raises concerns to management; reviews purchase order terms and confirms order entry and acceptance; administers production to contract requirements; negotiates new or modified contract terms when required
- New Product Entry into Service: Leads or supports the transition from development to production and entry into service of new products with customers. Coordinates the ongoing manufacturing build requirements and coordinates the support of this on-going plan with Operations and Supply Chain. Ensures documentation, training and support is available to support customers.
- Failure Investigations: In conjunction with Product Support Engineers, leads or supports failure investigations that include identifying the root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions. Evaluates field return data to identify failure trends and take appropriate action. Leads Failure Review Boards for assigned products as necessitated.
- Cost/Budget Controls: Monitors program performance to budget; tracks estimate to complete, material cost, and labor cost for monthly reporting; aggressively manages to meet cost targets; creates budgets for product modification programs.
- Schedule Control: Creates schedules on large, complex multi-year production programs; monitors program performance to schedule; provides guidance to internal team members to improve schedules; maintains action item lists and due dates in support of schedule goals; aggressively manages program teams to meet customer and internal schedule commitments; proactively makes decisions that avoid schedule risk.
- Technical Leadership: Collects technical data; understands technical issues; independently provides structured framework to resolve technical problems; effectively leads root cause and corrective action with assistance from engineering.
- Team Leadership: Provides strong leadership to assigned teams; utilizes motivational techniques; provides clear direction; obtains additional resources when required.
- New Business: Coordinates business proposals with Sales Lead on modifications to existing products and programs; generates aftermarket business proposals.
- Program Scope: Typically manages large, high risk, production programs or smaller programs entering production.
- Issue/Risk Management: Identify, track, manage and assist in resolving product or program issues. Identify and implement risk mitigation plans when needed.
- Transition to Production: Facilitate a complete and orderly transition of the product from engineering development to full production. Utilize and implement tools developed as part of the EIS process.
- Management/Communication: Manages all activities associated with assigned products to ensure prioritization, responsibility, and closure. Maintains tools to effectively manage and communicate these activities. Composes monthly program review materials to summarize and communicate activity and performance of assigned products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related technical degree
- Demonstrates competency; Typically five (5) years of direct experience) with the above duties and responsibilities for consideration as Production Program Manager.
- Demonstrates proficiency; Typically eight (8) years of direct experience with the above duties and responsibilities for consideration as Sr. Production Program Manager.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Base salary range for Production Program Manager is $102,687 - $154,031 per year.
Base salary range for Sr. Production Program Manager is $152,503- $183,004 per year.
Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.
