Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our team. In this role you will plan and schedule the shop floor to sustain manufacturing operations to meet forecast and demand on a timely basis. This will include ensuring inventory levels are managed according to company objectives and industry best practices. To be successful in this role you will be fluent in ERP and ready to apply your knowledge of operations in a dynamic environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine MRP analysis in support of forecast and customer requirements. Ensures material availability. Analyzes demand fluctuation and responds accordingly.
- Creates production plans; interacts with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and Customer Service to ensure that customer needs are met.
- May interact with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure procurement of materials within approved schedules and quality specifications.
- Assists in Master Scheduling and Capacity Planning to determine schedules and level load production. Makes decisions to release or defer job orders based on MRP demand, capacity, and material availability.
- Works closely with Engineering to maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and manufacturing plans, and to schedule NPI activities.
- Provides reports to management monthly and as needed.
- Works on LEAN projects and Kaizen events.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent preferred.
- APICS and/or CPM certificate, preferred.
- Three to four years manufacturing planning experience as a Planner in a job shop/OEM environment.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Thorough understanding of ERP, lean / throughput techniques and MRP theory and concepts.
- Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation graphics. High level Excel preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of working in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant environment.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry helpful.
