Micheal Boulden Memorial Internship
The Foundation Initiatives Student Assistant, otherwise known as the “Micheal Boulden Memorial Intern”, is a paid opportunity that prepares an ASU student for a career in higher education fundraising by providing hands-on experience in development fundamentals, alumni and donor engagement, and project management. The Micheal Boulden Internship will maintain accurate and confidential data, compile and analyze reports, create presentations and donor materials, research program opportunities, and support various Foundation initiatives that advance ASU’s mission. This role offers exposure to event planning, proposal development, and fundraising strategy while fostering relationships with development professionals and providing access to professional development opportunities. This internship serves as a launchpad for building practical skills and industry knowledge to drive meaningful impact.
This position will require approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. It is anticipated to be one full academic year or longer.

What You’ll Do
- Provide overall project support to the Foundation Initiatives team
- Coordinate tasks within a portfolio of projects and initiatives, providing support to the Foundation Initiatives team, ASUF leadership, and collaborating with ASUF units and central departments on assigned projects.
- Build and foster relationships across the institutional enterprise to improve efficiency and responsiveness in existing operations.
- Participate in meetings with leadership, stakeholders, and constituents from colleges, institutes, and units.
- Assist in producing written materials, program content, and communication elements for projects, meetings, and events.
- Support the events team during home football games in the President’s suite and assist with registration at tailgates as needed.
- Support the planning and execution of key donor events and facilitate tailored campus experiences for high- profile visitors, donors, and prospective partners.
- Help plan and implement the annual ASUF staff development retreat.
- Prepare presentations, compile, and analyze reports, and maintain confidential prospect data.
- Complete golf cart training and adhere to on-campus driving policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASU Foundation and Arizona State University business and confidential prospect information

- Confidence when communicating with senior leaders and high-profile donors
- Driven self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Creative problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible and working in ambiguous circumstances
- Team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations
- Ability to represent the institution well and be an advocate for the vision of ASU as the New American University
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans
- Advanced skills with computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent customer relation skills, communication and follow through
- Ability to be production oriented and meet deadlines
- Ability to prepare collateral materials
- Current undergraduate or graduate students at Arizona State University
- Must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement
