The Triage & Investigative Analyst (TIA) is part of a global team supporting Corporate Investigations. This group consists of multiple specialties dedicated to assisting corporate employees and vendors facing security concerns.
As part of the Joint Analysis team, the TIA provides 24/7 coverage to respond to reported incidents, take initial investigative steps, and determine the urgency of response from partnering investigative teams. The TIA conducts Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tasks requested by investigators and other internal customers.
The TIA is often the first point of contact for individuals impacted by security incidents, conducting impact assessments, entering cases into the case management system, and providing customer support. Cases include both traditional investigations, such as reports of internal theft, policy violations, and fraud, as well as incidents involving threats, concerning behavior, and workplace violence—including suicidal ideation and domestic violence.
The TIA works four 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review all referrals to Corporate Investigations, conduct triage and perform initial investigative steps on reported incidents, maintaining detailed and accurate data in a shared case management system.
- Analyze reports for appropriate response, prioritization and documentation in the case management system.
- Communicate with stakeholders and allocate cases to the relevant investigative team.
- Conduct open-source and closed-source research, collection, and analysis on people, property, or incidents.
- Review large amounts of complex data in a variety of formats to identify links, discrepancies, or risks.
- Apply structured analytic techniques and investigative indicators to findings and leads to assess risks to company personnel, assets, reputation, and business operations.
- Leverage internal and third-party data and tools to develop investigative findings and leads.
- Tailor investigative workflows to ad hoc investigative contexts and resources.
- Draft and self-edit detailed reports of investigative methodologies, findings, and summaries.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders by triaging, allocating, and responding to investigative analysis requests.
- Notify key stakeholders as incidents dictate, escalating urgent reports as necessary.
- Continually explore new tools, data sources, indicators, and innovative processes.
- Review CCTV video, access control systems and other databases and collect, document and preserve video, still images, documents and other materials as evidence.
- Conduct interviews of victims, witnesses and persons of interest utilizing established interviewing techniques and skills specific to corporate investigations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., journalism, data science, criminology, information systems, etc.)
- 2 years of work experience in analytical, investigative and/or security disciplines, supporting research, information gathering, or intelligence collection.
- 2 years of experience using a variety of software, including open-source databases and Microsoft suite tools.
- Familiarity with and willingness to use a variety of social media and other online platforms.
- Work independent or on a team in a fast-paced environment, especially to manage conflicting customer priorities.
- Able to suggest and help implement new ideas and adapt swiftly as responsibilities and processes evolve in response to business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Science-based interview skills.
- Proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking language(s) other than English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct briefings that present clear, concise, logic-based conclusions to support and inform the executive decision-making process.
- Prior experience in conducting corporate, product, and/or vendor investigations.
- Investigative and analytical skills specific to a corporate high-tech environment, including CCTV video review and preservation, an understanding of Chain of Custody, and knowledge of investigative methods.
