What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate / Accountant - Tax position at ATA Advisory LLC?
Title: Staff Accountant or Accountant FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Senior Accountant/Manager
I. Purpose of Position
- Prepare various tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts & estates
II. Duties & Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the Firm’s policies and procedures
- Understand the rules, regulations and code of professional conduct of the AICPA.
- Have obtained CPA designation or actively pursuing completion of the CPA exam.
- Become familiar with pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
- Obtain a working knowledge of research techniques and the various research sources in the firm library.
- Become proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns prepared by the firm.
III. Knowledge & Experience
- Individuals at this level normally have a college degree with a major in accounting or other related business field.
- 2-4 years of public accounting experience in the area of taxation is preferred.

- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects, independently or with other staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Accurately work with mathematical concepts.
- Capable of objective feedback, coaching, and problem solving.
- Strong time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of Firm and client information.
V. Environmental Conditions
- Normal office environment.
- Some work from home may be available
VI. Equipment & Tools
- Daily use of computer, telephone, copier, scanner, and printer.
- Use of multiple tax specific software packages as well as Microsoft products
**This position may be required to work weekends depending on workflow and busy seasons.
