Field Service Controls Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Field Service Control Systems Engineer to aid in the programming, installation, and startup of PLC and robotic control systems - as well as the troubleshooting and field service of these systems as they age and require additions or service.

The individual will be required to troubleshoot, analyze, and correct pneumatic, electrical and control system problems with ATC equipment at varied customer locations domestically and internationally. Up to 50% - 70% travel is required.

This is a senior level position with expert programming and troubleshooting skills.

This position reports to the Service Team Business Unit Manager.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• Create, read, and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical drawings and bill of materials using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop complex programs to operate devices and machines.
• Use voltmeters and ammeters.
• Understand and implement proper wiring methods.
• Have excellent computer skills and a high level of proficiency in software designing ladder logic and machine controls. Communicate with customers and team members to determine machine performance criteria.
• Have a thorough understanding of electrical and pneumatic devices.
• Ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members.

You Have:

Education and Experience

• BS/BA in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in a relevant role
• Hardware/Software Experience Required:
  
  • PLC - High level of knowledge/experience with: Allen Bradley (Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal)
  • HMI - Allen Bradley, Siemens
  • Robotics - Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, Epson, Denso, or Staubli
  • Industrial and Computer Network Communications - Ethernet, Ethernet IP, Devicenet, Profibus, Profinet, CC Link, or IO Link
  • Servo/Linear Motion - AB, Siemens, IAI, etc.
  • Vision - Cognex, Keyence
• Desired Hardware/Software Experience
  • PLC - Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider
  • HMI - Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider, Proface.
  • Test/Monitoring - Force (Kistler, SigPOD, etc...), Leak testing (CTS, Cosmo, etc.)
  • Database - Ignition, FTTM, SQL

Physical Demands:

• Work in standing position continuously.
• Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
• Physically be underneath machines working overhead.
• Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
• Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation.
