We seek an experienced Probate Litigation Attorney to join our rapidly growing law firm.
Pay is commensurate with experience. There are bonuses and room for growth.
Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Probate Litigation Attorney to handle a diverse caseload of probate, trust, and estate disputes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in probate litigation, including will contests, trust disputes, and fiduciary issues. The attorney will provide strategic counsel to clients while advocating in court. This role requires exceptional client communication and efficient case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in probate litigation matters, including will contests, trust disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and other estate-related conflicts.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and arguments.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents related to probate disputes.
- Advocate for clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials in probate court.
- Counsel clients on probate administration, trust disputes, and estate planning issues.
- Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneys to manage case workflows and ensure timely deliverables.
- Negotiate settlements and resolutions when in the best interest of clients.
- Maintain accurate case records, billing, and client communications in compliance with firm policies.
- Stay current on probate law, trust law, and relevant legal precedents to provide informed representation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and trusted advice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Florida, in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in probate litigation, with a proven track record of handling complex cases (e.g., will contests, trust disputes).
- Strong knowledge of probate law, trust law, estate administration, and fiduciary duties.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with estate planning or trust administration in addition to litigation.
- Familiarity with mediation or alternative dispute resolution in probate matters.
- Comfortable using technology for remote hearings, e-filing, and client communications.
- Passion for mentoring junior attorneys or contributing to firm thought leadership.
