What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Ateeca Inc?
The temporary paralegal will work with two complaint resolution coordinators (CRCs) on processing completed discipline determinations on licensed nurses.
Once the resolution of the case is determined the temp paralegal will:
•Selecting the correct template, input correct information an draft letters to be sent to licensees.
•Selecting the correct template, input correct information on processing documents. Perform audits to ensure that all documents are accurate.
•Utilizing email, transfer cases to other departments, tracking information
•Electronically scan letters and other applicable documents to e-folders.
•Plot data onto excel spreadsheets, sort data and perform other analytics as requested. Create new excel spreadsheets when requested.
•Transcribe Board meeting minutes for cases
•Using critical thinking skills, create Board memos for cases where CRCs can make determinations to dismiss or discipline licensed nurses.
•Using paralegal background, create consent agreements to be sent to licensed nurses as potential settlements.
•Verbally communicate with licensees about the consent agreements as directed by the CRCs.
•Utilize certified/registered mail, track mail receipts and follow up as necessary.
•Work with a variety of Microsoft software. Be especially skilled in Excel, sorting data, designing spreadsheets, and inputting data in an accurate, detailed manner.• Learn new and/or proprietary software in an efficient manner
• Demonstrate knowledge of legal terminology and the attention to detail
• Precisely transcribe data onto other forms, including letters
• Extract data from multiple websites
• Work with large databases maintaining both electronic and manual files.
• Be skilled in office equipment such as copiers, printers, fax machines and scanning.
• Answer emails requiring minimal direction.
• Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
Paralegal level of knowledge is essential, including good organizational and critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Must maintain confidential information. Although the expectation is that they perform their duties with minimal direction, they must know when to escalate to one of the CRCs, as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal experience and or certification required.
