We are dedicated to continuous improvement and are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the protection of the environment while meeting all regulatory requirements.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to coordinate detailed technical safety and environmental activities. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily safety and environmental compliance efforts at our facility, ensuring continuous improvement in both areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance with government agency regulations, including conducting inspections, updating and maintaining records, and addressing deficiencies
- Coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and environmental policies, procedures, and training programs tailored to the plant’s needs
- Manage employee training as related to Environmental and Safety needs, including creating training plans, conducting sessions, and auditing program effectiveness
- Overseeing environmental systems (ISO 14001) and waste disposal processes
- Participate in managing workplace incidents and injuries, ensuring proper care and reports are done, assisting HR with information for injury claims, and tracking outcomes to reduce incidents
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in an engineering or EHS role in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety management preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and other computer systems
- Excellent organizational skills
