Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate payment processing, vendor relationship management, and maintenance of financial records. This role supports the Finance team with day-to-day AP operations and assists with month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Process a high volume of invoices with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring timely payment to vendors.

Verify invoice approvals and match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips, and payment requests.

Maintain vendor records, ensuring W-9s, payment terms, and contact information are current.

Resolve discrepancies or issues with vendors regarding billing or payment delays.

Assist with weekly check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.

Reconcile vendor statements and assist in resolving outstanding items.

Support Finance with month-end close activities, including AP accruals and reporting.

Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, and Legal on payment-related matters.

Assist with preparation for audits by providing documentation and support as needed.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Minimum 6–8 years of experience in audit, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.

Strong expertise in internal controls, risk assessment frameworks (e.g., COSO), and operational auditing.

Experience in fintech, cryptocurrency, financial institutions, or ATM-based operations strongly preferred.

In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal control best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA/AML, SOX, OFAC).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present findings to senior leadership.

Strong proficiency in audit systems, Excel, and analytical/reporting tools.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

2–4 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or accounting support role.

Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with digital tools and automated workflows.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience in a fintech, crypto, or high-growth startup environment a plus.

Bilingual in English and Spanish
