Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be performing day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying and recording accounts payable data in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify invoices received from vendors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures
• Post verified invoices in the financial system to appropriate accounts and cost centers
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies
• Prepare vendor payments via ACH, check, or wire
• Monitoring accounts to ensure timely payments
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Maintain vendor files and compliance documents
• Assists with month end and year end closings
• Work collaboratively with various departments
• Prepares 1099’s for appropriate vendors
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable
• Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain an organized workflow
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to work either independently or collaboratively as needed
• Self-motivated and cable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Comfortable with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
