Senior Accounting Operations Consultant

Position Summary:
The Accounting Operations Supervisor oversees key financial functions, including accounts payable, payroll processing, and general accounting. This role ensures timely, accurate invoice processing, supports payroll administration, and serves as backup to the Accounts Payable Manager. The position also assists with financial reporting, reconciliations, and ensures compliance with internal controls and company policies. This position is on site in Irvine, CA with a competitive hourly pay rate of $40 - $45 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process and oversee vendor invoices with proper documentation and approvals
• Maintain AP records and resolve discrepancies
• Support month- and year-end closing activities
• Contribute to process improvements and automation
• Serve as backup for the Accounts Payable Manager

Payroll

• Accurately process payroll in compliance with policies and regulations
• Maintain payroll records and deductions
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Ensure proper tax withholdings and benefit deductions

General Accounting

• Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Assist with financial reports and variance analysis
• Ensure GAAP and policy compliance
• Provide support during audits

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• CPP certification preferred
• 3 years of experience in AP, payroll, or general accounting; 5 years overall experience preferred
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of AP processes, payroll regulations, and accounting principles
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
