Job Title: Camp Selah Director
Position Type: Seasonal full-time position (9-10 weeks in the summer season)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Manages, directs and coordinates summer programming at Camp Selah. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities and/or schedules.
2. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates camp staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3. Develops, manages and controls camp budget. Ensures the program operates within budget and that program fees are collected. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality.
4. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to summer camp. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
5. Adheres to and instructs staff and volunteers in YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
6. Keeps their supervisor informed of all pertinent situations on a daily basis.
7. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
8. The Youth Development Director, develops and maintains relationships with state camp licensing agency (DPH), school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to the assigned program. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
9. Maintains proper records/department files.
10. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
11. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and participation of each program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
2. One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care/ camp programs.
3. Meets DPH requirements for Camp Director.
4. Within 30 days of hire include completion of: Praesidium Child Abuse Prevention trainings; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
