What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Curriculum and Instruction position at Athol-Royalston Regional School District?

Create, sustain, and support teaching and learning systems to address intended learning outcomes through curriculum and instruction processes.

Develop, organize, communicate, and oversee district assessments.

Plan, organize, and communicate all professional development sessions, including creating and analyzing measurable outcomes for all relevant units.

Support principals in planning and implementing effective educator evaluation systems.

Conduct curriculum reviews and pilots of core content with appropriate reports to the Superintendent.

Develop and implement districtwide mentoring and new teacher orientation programming.

Participate in administrator and staff member hiring teams as directed by the Superintendent.

Track attendance at professional meetings and conferences for teachers, administrators, and staff and oversee distribution of PDPs.

Attend School Committee and Subcommittee meetings (as needed), and prepare data and next steps according to agenda items.

Ensure proper professional evaluations of teaching and administrator staff.

Coordinate systems to ensure certification and licensure requirements are met by relevant staff

Participate in labor management meetings and prepare data and action steps.

Assist with District budgeting processes.

Write, submit, and report on grants and oversee the implementation of grants as assigned by the Superintendent.

Work with statewide system of support (SSOS) on turnaround practices related to underperforming schools.

Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign from time to time.
