Job Description
The Field Tech is a technical position that works in a high performance and client-focused team environment. They are responsible for a number of internal and client-oriented technical tasks. Field Techs must be capable of interacting with managers and senior level managers, be experienced with electronics, software, and AMR system repair. The candidate must be a highly adaptable, self-aware individual who can work across the organizations to ensure that system installation and device repair are identified, serviced and brought to a conclusion at the appropriate times.
Responsibilities
- Respond to Client inquiries
- Coordinate service requests
- Obtain systems certifications and installation expertise.
- Understand all aspects of system programing, trouble shooting, and installations
- Train installers in proper safety and installation processes.
- Resolve problem tickets in a timely and prescribed manner.
- Evaluate installer performance and ensure required productivity is being achieved.
- Directly report to the Installation Project Manager.
- Meet deployment schedule
- Assist and guide 3rd party installation crews
- Preform other duties as they may arise or are assigned
Technical Responsibilities
· Diagnose and resolve complex AMR system, devices, other hardware and software issues
· Lead refurbishment efforts: advanced diagnostics, component replacements, upgrades.
· Test refurbished devices to meet performance benchmarks for resale.
· Install, configure, and maintain hardware systems, including servers/network devices.
· Implement data wiping protocols (e.g., NIST 800-88).
· Document service calls, repair, refurbishment processes for future reference.
· Understanding of wireless technologies and protocols
· Ability to be trained in the latest wireless technologies and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires two to four years computer and/or mobile device service-related work experience. Previous computer/computer technical and repair experience required. High level of direct client contact requires communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills. Working knowledge of company policies, practices and client credit-related matters. Previous experience in a corporate travel position beneficial but not required.
Primary Duties
Field Account Manager may perform any combination of the following tasks:
· System set-up, installation service, repair and trouble shooting
· Daily diagnostics repairs of AMR systems computers and gateways
· Respond to billing inquiries and handle client/clients’ high bill complaints
· Report on AMR and system for electric, gas, water and trash issues and outages
· Provide data to clients requesting new services
· Seek resolution of client complaints.
· Manage the Field Service and Installation process.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
The ability to maintain high energy and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment is imperative. Candidate must be able to organize, set priorities, adapt to constant changes and updates involving client/client service practices and procedures. Maintain a strong working relationship with clients, teammates, and all facets of organization. Take the initiative to solve problems while meeting goals with professionalism. Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette skills are required. Candidate must be able to compose business correspondence and have strong grammar skills.
