Primary Purpose of this Job
The Maintenance Utility Worker performs a variety of basic preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment, under the supervision of maintenance mechanics and lead. Performs a range of semi-skilled facilities maintenance responsibilities and supports the revert chip reclaiming process.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)
- Perform chip removal and coolant changes from machines.
- Check coolant and document as needed; add or change, and / or PM coolant as needed.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine preventative maintenance as required.
- Assist in basic machine maintenance tasks under the supervision of the maintenance lead.
- Perform basic facilities maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Control revert containers, monitor revert to ensure correct weight.
- Assist in organization and inventory control of the reclaimed process.
- Promote workplace safety, environmental practices, and wasted reduction opportunities.
- Perform daily other duties as required which can include but not limited to, sweeping, floor scrubbing, mopping, and trash removal.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems
- Basic knowledge of plant and machine safety
- Basic construction / building skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Some basic computer skills
- Operate custodial operation-related equipment and use applicable chemicals, supplies, hand and power tools
- Understand written and verbal communication
