A Coating Insulated Products (CIP) Production Operator is responsible for the set up and changing of materials on a variety of different types of CIP machines. This includes a cleaning process as well.
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:
- Perform quality work in a safe manner within a production standard either with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with coworkers.
- Work effectively within a functional group.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for effective communication (5 1) and coordinating work efforts with other employees and departments
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Operation:
CIP Production Operators are tasked with the following:
- Setting up equipment according to specifications.
- Visually & physically inspecting material for nonconformities by using required testing methods.
- Splicing
- Apply coatings, adhesives, or occasional chemicals to materials, ensuring compliance with required standards
- Retrieve materials and parts.
- Cleaning of all setup parts.
- Pulling of completed reels & perform required testing methods.
- Package and label finished products according to specifications.
Quality:
- The inspection of all material being placed on a machine during its set up as well as the finished material being harvested from the machine. The quality standards vary according to product specification.
- The correct labeling of material harvested from the machine.
Miscellaneous:
Operate the following industrial motorized vehicles:
- Forklifts… A sit-down fork truck to transport and retrieve materials on skids.
- Cherry pickers… A stand-up lift that raises the operator off the ground in order to replace and remove material from overhead creels.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED
License / Credentials / Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willing and able to become certified by company on Forklift and other motorized material handling vehicles
Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working Hours / Environment
- Work hours are 8 hours a day, 5 days a week on 3rd shift (10:35pm-7:05am).
- This position requires working at least one weekend day on your permanent shift (Friday and/or Saturday)
- Company offers additional compensation for 3rd shift ($2 an hour) and weekend schedule ($1 additional for 1 weekend day, $ 2 for working both weekend days).
Tools and Equipment
- Tools include but are not limited to scissors, wrenches, and screwdrivers. Appropriate PPE will be assigned as required. This includes safety glasses, cut gloves, hat or hairnet, hearing protection.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Ability to lift up to 65lbs on occasion using proper lifting techniques & processes.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to work at heights in excess of 40 feet; ability to maneuver on a three-level mezzanine, including the ability to ascend and descend numerous stairs and ladders.
- The ability to stand and walk on concrete for an entire shift.
- The ability to bend and/or squat frequently.
