We are hiring a Senior Cost Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis in Whiting, IN.

The current role offers a unique opportunity to support our client's Project Services function in all aspects of Cost Management. You will work on a diverse portfolio of New Energy projects with varying complexity and cost from inception through to final close out.
Responsibilities
- Manage budgets, commitments, VOWD, final forecast cost, forecast phasing
- Deliver accurate cost forecasting in coordination with the team within /-5% accuracy on a quarterly and annual basis
- Develop and present cost trends to be included in the forecast working in coordination with key projects stakeholders
- Ensure accurate cost allocation processes are established and implemented to reporting project WBS structure
- Support change management process, identifying areas of change on the project
- Input into the cost management monthly performance report, providing commentary for variance analysis
- Support the implementation of the Project Coordination Procedures, establishing, and maintaining robust cost management processes, systems, and tools
- Work collaboratively on monthly cost management process
- Support stage gate estimate development and budget sanction documentation through the provision of relevant project cost data and projected staffing requirements
- Closely monitor cost performance against key performance indicators using systems such as Earned Value for productivity, trending and early warning identification
- Identify, analyze, and respond to costs associated with project opportunities, risks, and uncertainties
- Support Cost and Schedule integration to incorporate schedule related data into execution of cost management scopes of work providing single source of truth
- Support continuous improvement scopes of work and have a direct and profound effect on a data-driven organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction, Finance or a related field, or 8 years of relevant experience, or alternatively 8 years proven experience directly in Project Controls environment
- Experience with Oil&Gas and/or New Energy project types
- Certification with AACE, PMI or CMAA is preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in project controls systems
- Able to understand and interpret project schedules, progress measurement system and productivity norms
- Able to present cost estimates, budgets, and reports to senior management and external stakeholders as required
- Knowledge of and experience with stage-gated project execution processes
- Ability to support multiple active projects simultaneously
- Maturity in Engineering, Procurement and Construction scopes of work in both a cost and schedule driven capacity
- Experience with Ecosys or SAP or similar finance and cost management software with good understanding of P6 software
- Must be articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and good decision-making abilities
- Track record of consistently producing high quality cost engineering deliverables
- Ability to produce high quality written reports and summary presentations - able to communicate clarity from complexity
- Ability to harness use of digital tools to provide high quality cost management reporting information
- Bias for simplification, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Ability to influence, interface, communicate and work effectively with members of a project team
- Must have good communication skills
- Finance and/or accounting experience preferred
- Must generally understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Cost Management systems
