General Accounting Manager III
The General Accounting Manager III is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable and billing functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and providing support to the Underwriting team.
Accountabilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Own the payables process in Stampli Invoice/Stampli Card, Concur, and MIP. Oversee the accounts payable cycle, including invoice coding and review, mailing checks or submitting ACH payment requests, and overall vendor management.
- Underwriting Billing and Revenue Recognition: Assist the Financial Accounting Senior Manager with the billing process in Allegiance Traffic. Customer payment allocation research and application in Allegiance and the general ledger. Work together with UW and Traffic teams to ensure data integrity.
- Collections: Lead collections efforts for the different accounts receivable streams. Partner with UW team along the process.
- Credit Card Payment Processing: Own the credit card payment process for customers on monthly payment plan as well as ad-hoc payments.
- Bank Deposits: Process weekly check deposits. Create deposit reports to the Development and Underwriting teams. Enter underwriting payments in Allegiance on a weekly basis to keep the aging report up to date.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly P&L, weekly/monthly cash flow report, and accounts payable report. 1099 compliance reports
- Monthly Account Reconciliations: Perform timely bank account reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable records (Underwriting/Rentals/Other (FTC) to ensure accurate reporting.
- Audit Support: Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Understand processes to identify and implement efficiencies that maximize resources.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in general accounting, accounts payable and billing.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software (MIP/SAGE/SAP/PeopleSoft/Hyperion). Advanced excel abilities (Pivot tables/Xlookups, etc)
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
