What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Intern position at Atlanta Gladiators?
The Atlanta Gladiators are seeking highly motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates for our Off-Season Merchandise Internship Program. Candidates should expect to build upon their work experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the ECHL. Finalists will be contacted for interviews. All applications will be kept on file until the beginning of the internship program that each candidate applied for.
Position Overview:
Merchandise Interns will learn valuable skills for excelling in the sports industry while working closely with all members of the Gladiators Front Office through assisting in the office and at community events.
Timeline: May 2024 – September 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in updating product inventory from previous season for upcoming season
- Assist in receiving new merchandise items for upcoming season
- Assist in moving merchandise to and from the office for inventory purposes
- Fulfill online orders on the Shopify Platform
- Create and fulfill online auctions on DASH (auction platform)
- Observe merchandise ordering and reporting processes
- Assist in team store set-up and tear down for any off-season sales
- Run Point-of-Sale system at off-season events where merchandise is being sold
- Provide excellent service to customers and restock items during events
- Other duties as assigned
Internship Requirements
- Working towards a four-year college degree or graduate degree or recent graduate in Marketing, Business Administration, or Sports Management
- Housing and transportation in the Atlanta/Duluth Area
- Interest in retail sales and operation (specifically in sports)
- Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Strong professional attitude
- Experience in the sports industry preferred
- Knowledge of Shopify a plus
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, walking
Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. If an intern needs school credit, they can receive hours.
