Job Summary: The Atlanta Hawks coaching staff is looking for an addition to their video room and new members of the DAV (Development / Advanced Scouting / Video) program. This individual will be immersed in player development, advanced scouting and video. Working closely with the players and coaching staff, this individual will have an opportunity to be up close and learn the intricacies that come with coaching a basketball team. Responsibilities are but will not be limited to:
Development:
- Assist the coaching staff with individual workouts by rebounding, passing and/or playing defense
- Film and maintain a written database of individual workouts
- Assist coaches with on court drills during practice
Advanced Scouting:
- Collaborate with an assistant coach to create comprehensive scouting reports on assigned teams.
- Develop pregame, walkthrough, personnel, and advanced video edits of opponent teams under coaching staff guidance.
- Assist in scouting opponent personnel.
- Code and analyze the last five games of assigned opponent teams.
Video:
- Finalize team video edits for both opponent analysis and post-game reviews.
- Code the final two minutes of close games for upcoming opponents to create "two-minute tapes."
- Update and manage the Atlanta Hawks digital playbook, maintaining a database of team plays and ATOs.
- Film and code all practices, and individual player workouts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Proficiency with video editing software and computer technology. (ie, SportsCode, Second Spectrum, Synergy and Microsoft Office)
- Familiarity with high-level basketball programs preferred.
- Experience coaching high-level athletes preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of equipment
- Capable of engaging in physical activities such as rebounding, passing, and participating in on-court drills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
