The event manager is responsible for the successful day-of execution of facility rental, program, fundraiser, photoshoot, and any other type of function scheduled. Ensuring smooth event execution by reviewing paperwork, overseeing vendor logistics, and maintaining effective communication across departments. Provide excellent customer service to clients, vendors, and guests while ensuring event safety and facility maintenance. Monitor activities, handle incident reports, and assist with production and cleanup as needed. Work professionally in a team environment to execute both private and public events.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and understand all event paperwork prior to shift to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee vendor load-in and load-out, including set-up; breakdown, and cleanup of the event.
- Effectively interact with clients (internal & external), caterers, wedding planners, etc. ensuring excellent customer service and a top-quality experience while at Atlanta History Center.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively across various departments.
- Responsible for the completion of event paperwork, incident reports, and the handling of any other issues pertaining to vendors, the event, safety of individuals attending, and the maintenance of the facility from damage.
- Monitor event activities to ensure the client and event attendees are satisfied.
- Monitor guest behavior and communicate with appropriate departments as needed.
- Assist with managing on-site production and clean up for events, as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service in meeting the needs and requests of clients.
- Work and interact professionally with all levels of management and staff.
- Work in a team environment to execute both private and public events.
