The Executive Director of College & Career K-12 is responsible for advancing college and career readiness across grades K-12, overseeing programs such as CTAE, JROTC, Fine Arts, Advanced / Accelerated Content, and Master Scheduling. This role emphasizes equitable access to programs that prepare students for post-secondary success. The Executive Director collaborates with district leaders, school administrators, and community partners to build a vision for student success, integrating high-quality programs and pathways that support graduation, dual enrollment, and diverse career options. This role also ensures compliance with all state and federal laws and Department of Education regulations. Additionally, the Executive Director initiates the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic plans that enhance the district's college and career preparation and readiness culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead College & Career Program Development and Implementation

  • Provide leadership for district programs, including CTAE, JROTC, IB, STE(A)M, AP, Dual Enrollment, and other advanced academics, ensuring alignment with district goals to create meaningful college and career pathways.
  • Prepare and present annual reports for Senior Leadership and the Board of Education, summarizing program performance, student outcomes, and progress toward readiness goals.

Foster Professional Development and Instructional Excellence

  • Collaborate with program coordinators to design professional learning programs that elevate instructional performance and student achievement across college and career readiness areas.
  • Support teachers, staff, and administrators with targeted professional development, ensuring high standards of program implementation.
  • Engage Families and Community in College & Career Readiness

  • Plan and coordinate informational sessions and publications to increase parent and community awareness of college and career programs, fostering support and engagement in student readiness.
  • Oversee Budgeting, Resource Allocation, and Grant Applications

  • Manage budgets for college and career programs, including general funds and federal grants, ensuring compliance with regulations. Develop annual budgets, seek additional funding, and authorize expenditures per district guidelines.
  • Monitor Legislative Impact and Ensure Compliance

  • Stay informed on current and pending legislation affecting college and career programs, communicating impacts to relevant stakeholders and attending federal and state training as necessary.
  • Set and Track Strategic Goals with Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Establish short- and long-term goals for the College & Career Programs department, using data to inform adjustments. Coordinate cross-functional teams to support high school graduation and post-secondary readiness initiatives, driving continuous improvement in program offerings.
  • Ensure Vertical Alignment with Curriculum & Instruction for Readiness

  • Collaborate with the Curriculum & Instruction department to align essential skills across grade levels, overseeing assessments like End of Pathway, SAT, ACT, ASVAB, AP, and IB exams for college and career readiness.
  • Manage Staff Supervision and School-Based Support

  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop staff, setting performance goals to foster a high-performing team. Conduct school visits to support program implementation and work with administrators to positively impact student achievement and post-secondary planning.
  • Facilitate Equitable Access through Master Scheduling

  • Ensure equity in course progression and master schedules to include robust offerings that support accelerated learning opportunities for all students, including students with disabilities (SWD) and English language learners (ELL)
  • MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION :

  • Master's degree required
  • Specialists or higher preferred
  • CERTIFICATION / LICENSE :

  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification at a level 5 or higher
  • Educational Leadership or Instructional / Curriculum Leadership preferred
  • WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration, supervision, or leadership roles, with specific expertise in curriculum planning, implementation, evaluation, and master scheduling (K-12 setting preferred).
  • Proven experience developing and monitoring key performance indicators to assess program impact.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, district-wide initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • SALARY INFORMATION

    Pay Grade : 140

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of college and career readiness programs (CTAE, JROTC, advanced academics) and best practices in pedagogy, instruction, and assessment.
  • Understanding of dual enrollment legislation, programming requirements, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws for CTAE and JROTC..
  • Strong strategic planning skills with experience in data analysis and using key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide program improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively with educators, administrators, and community partners.
  • Skilled in managing budgets and securing grants in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Commitment to promoting equity in course progression and master scheduling to ensure all students have access to advanced programming.
  • Ability to design and implement effective professional development for teachers and staff.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and adaptability skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

    Strength : Ability to lift, push, pull and / or carry objects which weigh as much as 15 or more pounds on a frequent basis.

    Environmental Requirements : Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.

    Mental Requirements : Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records.     Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities : Will require travel to multiple sites.
