Job Title: STEM Institute Program Director
Job Summary: The STEM Program Director is responsible for developing, planning, recruiting,
managing, supporting, organizing, and implementing the STEM program within the STEM
Institute at Newton College & Career Academy. The STEM Program Director will lead a team of
educators to develop and implement innovative and engaging STEM curricula, as well as
cultivate partnerships with community organizations, industry leaders, and academic institutions
to enhance the STEM program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for a comprehensive STEM education, including
curricula development, teacher training, and community outreach - Collaborate with school administrators and faculty to integrate STEM concepts into the
school's overall curriculum - Foster partnerships with community organizations, businesses and academic institutions
to promote STEM education and career opportunities for students - Conduct research and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of STEM initiatives and
make recommendations for program improvement - Supervise the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies and equipment
for STEM programs - Assists in the development of a proposed annual budget relating to STEM curriculum
development and the instructional material needs of the STEM program - Identify funding opportunities and write grant proposals to secure funding for STEM
initiatives - Leads and organizes NCCA STEM “FLEX Day” implementation, scheduling and
management - Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their knowledge
and skills in STEM education - Organize and oversee STEM-related competitions, events, and field trips
Serve as the AP Coordinator/Base School Liason
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, STEM, or related field
- At least 3-5 years of experience in STEM education, program development, and
implementation - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people
- Proficiency in technology and computer applications related to STEM education
- Knowledge of current trends and issues in STEM education
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
