Job Title : MEP Superintendent - Commercial
Reports to : Construction Manager
FLSA / EEOC : Exempt / 1.2
Summary / Objective :
There are a few different objectives that can come with this role :
Oversee commercial construction projects from ground up for mechanical, electrical and plumbing.Provides guidance and direction to crews in budgeting and scheduling. Ensures that production numbers are being reached along with forecasting what it will take to complete the phase codes.Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every project stage.Strong relationship building skills with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment.In addition to supervisory responsibility, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.Holding crews responsible and accountable for making sure AXIOM is kept up to date with daily production reports, look ahead' s complete and more.Essential Functions :
Supervises field Foreman's for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)Performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks.Acts as liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams, to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and scheduling is being metCoordinates with other departments (i.e., Quality Control and Engineering) to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activitiesResolves problems in a variety of construction issues, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements; documenting and implementing corrective actionPerforms other duties as assignedEnsure a safe work environmentEnsure foreman are conducting work with crews safelyCoordinate safety on siteEnsure foreman understand their trade specific schedules and goals through reviewing 2 week look-a-heads along with setting up weekly meetings with the foreman to review as a whole.Ensure foreman have material ordered & staged for crewsTrack progress on the projectAxiom and reviewing Foreman's Daily logs along with reviewing their notes and helping eliminate the constraints.Make sure the trades are tracking at estimate or better then estimate using Axiom as their guide.JOB COST :
Understand the project job costContract obligations, inclusions and exclusions.Review of the job cost with the PM, PC, and foremanPre- POC forecast due the week before monthly POC meeting.Assist in projection of laborReview job cost with trade specific foremenUnderstand and review projection metric goals with PM and foremenDAY TO DAY ACTIVTIES
Drawing reviewVDC interaction and coordination during draftingVDC reviews & coordination team meetingsWeekly Fabrication meeting with fabrication manager and updates for pre-fabricationSchedule reviews and confirm areas available for installationmanpower management and projectionsEquipment release review with PM along with confirming equipment counts, equipment handingEnsure proper resources (tools, rental equipment, materials) are on the project when neededEngage foreman teams with planning for efficiencyCreate a positive work environmentSupervisory Responsibility : Yes
Required :
7 years previous experience as a General Foreman / Superintendent and / or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceAbility to successfully supervise large crew (20 )Prior experience supervising large teamsPrevious knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimatingAdvanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goalsEffective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplinesAbility to effectively present information to customers, clients, and colleaguesOSHA 30 and CPRDemonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting, and working to :Design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specifications
Support Drawings and specificationsContract documents and site coordination of subcontractorsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e., DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedules that may require extended hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) and require client-specific safety standardsThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following :
