Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician with LASIK experience to join our dynamic ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in assisting with LASIK procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, review pre-operative instructions, and ensure understanding of LASIK procedure.
- Conduct preliminary vision tests, including refraction, visual acuity, and corneal topography.
- Assist ophthalmologist during LASIK surgeries, including operating laser systems and monitoring patient comfort and safety.
- Instruct patients on post-operative care protocols and medication administration.
- Perform post-operative assessments, including visual acuity testing and examination of corneal healing.
- Address patient concerns and questions regarding recovery and outcomes.
- Document pre-operative assessments, intra-operative details, and post-operative progress accurately and timely.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of LASIK equipment and instruments.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and order replacements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a LASIK Technician or Ophthalmic Technician, with a demonstrated proficiency in LASIK procedures.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, anatomy, and surgical techniques related to LASIK.
- Proficiency in operating LASIK equipment, including excimer lasers and diagnostic devices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirement:
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
Work Schedule:
8:30AM-5:00PM Flexibility is key, with occasional availability required on weekends and evenings.
