Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and empower our billing team to reach their full potential while setting clear objectives and tracking performance.
- Oversee the entire billing process—from preparing and filing insurance claims to obtaining prior authorizations and addressing incorrect payments or denials.
- Be the go-to expert for insurance companies and adjusters—ensuring timely and accurate payments while keeping those aging reports in check.
- Accurately post all incoming payments from patients and insurance providers.
- Handle appeals, claims, and denials with a keen eye for detail, staying persistent until everything is sorted out.
- Provide top-notch customer service by addressing patient billing inquiries with professionalism and care.
- Jump in with other duties as needed
- 2 years of medical billing experience (ophthalmology is a plus!).
- Strong understanding of the billing cycle, from registration to payment posting.
- Proficient in claim filing, documentation, and payment posting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Flexibility is key, with occasional evenings or weekends required).
