Summary
Atlantic Fabricating Company, a women-owned metal fabrication and machining business, is seeking a highly skilled Full-Time Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role involves assembling large, intricate mechanical systems, with each project being unique. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Operations Manager to ensure precision, quality, and efficiency in all builds. This position requires strong mechanical assembly experience, blueprint interpretation, and proficiency in using advanced tools and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assemble complex machinery and components with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery, including press brakes, lathes, and drills, to complete assembly tasks.
- Lead custom machinery build projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Perform advanced mechanical and basic electrical assembly as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing expertise to enhance team performance.
- Work closely with management and operations to meet ISO and quality control standards.
- Troubleshoot and assist with the maintenance of assembly tools and equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing assembly processes and ensuring safety.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings.
- Expertise in operating and maintaining assembly tools and machinery (e.g., lathes, presses, and drills).
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is required.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to work with precise measurements, tolerances, and calculations.
- Previous experience in aerospace, manufacturing, energy, or related industries highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality assurance processes.
- Strong team-oriented mindset, with excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Physically capable of lifting materials up to 50 lbs and working in a hands-on environment.
