Job Overview – Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting:
Join our client as the Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting in Chester County, PA. In this hybrid role, you will oversee financial reporting in compliance with SEC regulations, provide technical accounting expertise, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and transparency. This role is instrumental in managing compliance, driving efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making within a dynamic environment.
Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000/year bonus
Location: Chester County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K in compliance with SEC regulations.
- Calendar Management: Develop and maintain reporting calendars to ensure timely SEC filings.
- Collaboration: Partner with legal, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate financial disclosures.
- Technical Accounting: Research and apply US GAAP and SEC regulations to complex transactions and disclosures.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, supporting audits and internal controls testing.
- Process Improvement: Drive enhancements to internal controls and financial reporting processes for efficiency.
Qualifications for the Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Licensure: CPA designation required.
- Experience: 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting in a public company, with prior experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry required.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in US GAAP, SEC regulations, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and equity-based compensation.
- Software Expertise: Experience with Workiva, Shareworks, and NetSuite preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
