Summary of Role:
The firm is looking for a controller to join the finance team and report to the CFO. The Fund Accounting Controller will be involved in the closing of the books including NAV review and reconciliation, fee calculations and partners’ capital statement review, involved in fund seup, investor requests, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the preparation of timely & accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results as required, for management, external auditors, and regulators
- Management and oversight of day to day Fund Accounting function and Analyst and Associate team members.
- Management fee and incentive fee waterfall calculation and review
- Review of capital call and distribution calculations and notices
- Maintains the chart of accounts to enable proper consolidation of all subsidiaries
- Reviews transaction documents to determine appropriate lease accounting treatment
- Manages the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Supports operation function by performing / reviewing various billings, allocations and monitoring of monthly activities
- Creates a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement to maximize efficiency and reduce risk
Qualifications:
- 7-12 years in fund accounting, preferably within the alternative investment industry, with exposure to credit, direct lending, or private equity strategies.
- Previous public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
