Job Summary:
The Hedge Fund Controller will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, and operational control functions of the hedge fund. This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of hedge fund accounting, financial regulations, and risk management. The Controller will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance 1 with US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. 1.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of investor reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV) and ensure its accuracy.
- Accounting Operations:Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Oversee the reconciliation of cash, positions, and trades.
- Manage the calculation and processing of management and performance fees.
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including SEC regulations and tax laws.
- Manage the preparation and filing of regulatory reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Risk Management:Monitor and assess financial risks.
- Implement and maintain internal control procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of risk management policies.
- Investor Relations:Respond to investor inquiries regarding financial reporting and other related matters.
- Assist in the preparation of investor presentations and due diligence materials.
- Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Technology:Maintain and utilize fund accounting software, and other relative programs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in hedge fund accounting or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of hedge fund strategies and investment instruments.
- Experience with financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Skills:Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fund accounting software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced enviroment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with specific fund administration software (e.g., Advent Geneva, Eze Software).
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
