Loan Operations Associate

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the settlement process for loan and bank debt trades across multiple trading desks.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of par and distressed loan trades, including:
• Finalizing transaction details with traders and reconciling activity in ClearPar.
• Collaborating with legal teams and counterparties to resolve discrepancies.
• Calculating trade-related fees such as delayed compensation and cost of carry.
• Coordinating fund flows and ensuring timely execution of wire transfers with Treasury.
• Inputting all relevant loan details into WSO for accurate record-keeping.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations for settlement activities.
• Collaborate with fund administrators to address position and P&L discrepancies.
• Interpret and analyze loan documentation, such as credit agreements, assignment forms, funding memos, and agent notices.
• Partner closely with deal teams, auditors, legal advisors, tax and accounting departments, treasury, and external participants to resolve issues and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct P&L analyses, including realized/unrealized gains, FX-related P&L for foreign securities, interest accruals, and cost relief calculations.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in loan settlement operations.
• Proficiency with ClearPar, WSO Administrator/Agent, and Excel; familiarity with SAP-Business Objects and VPM is an advantage.
• Background in loan servicing is highly desirable.
• In-depth understanding of trade structures, including upstream/downstream processes and trade inventory management.
• Expertise in P&L components such as economic benefit analysis, delayed compensation fees, and the nuances of par vs. distressed loans, PIK loans, and cost lot relief.
• Thrives under pressure in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
