Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Hybrid):

This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with expertise in GAAP, SEC reporting, and financial statement preparation. Lead month-end close, financial analysis, compliance, and process improvements while ensuring accurate reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation: $90,000 – $105,000/year bonus
Location: Newark, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Financial Close & Reporting: Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements.
- Technical Accounting & Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP, FASB, SOX, and SEC regulations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with finance, operations, and business units to align accounting practices.
- Issue Resolution & Advisory: Identify and address accounting concerns, providing strategic solutions.
- Process Optimization: Leverage technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Leadership & Development: Mentor staff, support professional growth, and contribute to knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 4 years in Big 4 audit or public accounting and industry, including 3 years in Big 4, with preferred experience in regulatory reporting, utilities, energy, or SEC filings.
- Certification: CPA highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of accounting principles, SOX compliance, and financial reporting requirements, with experience in ERP systems and automation tools as a plus.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills, with excellent communication, integrity, and attention to detail.
