Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Manufacturing):
Join our client’s team as a Senior Accountant in Gloucester County, NJ, where you will play a critical role in managing financial reporting, cost accounting, and global consolidations. Reporting to the Plant Controller, this position focuses on streamlining financial processes, optimizing cost structures, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000/year bonus
Location: Gloucester County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Financial Reporting: Manage month-end and year-end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, assess profitability, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Cost & Inventory Management: Monitor production costs, raw materials, labor, and overhead to improve financial efficiency.
- Compliance & Tax Coordination: Assist with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and internal control maintenance.
- Process Improvement: Enhance financial workflows, reporting accuracy, and support ERP system upgrades.
- Capital & Asset Management: Track capital expenditures, maintain fixed asset records, and oversee depreciation accounting.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, consolidations, and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft D365/DAX preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel functions.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with global enterprise accounting, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting in manufacturing.
- Attributes: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Effective communicator with the ability to present complex financial data to stakeholders and collaborate across departments.
