Job Overview – Senior Corporate Accountant:
Our client in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their team. The role of Senior Corporate Accountant involves preparing and recording journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing financial statements, recording cash activity, and preparing corporate bank reconciliations. The Senior Corporate Accountant will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting and collaborate with the corporate and field accounting teams and the financial, planning & analysis team.
Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000/year bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Corporate Accountant:
- Financial Management: Prepare and record monthly journal entries, ensure timely financial reporting, and prepare accurate financial statements.
- Collaboration and Analysis: Work with corporate and field teams, analyze financial statements for variances, and assist with budgets, forecasts, and departmental reports.
- Reconciliation and Compliance: Prepare and resolve balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensure GAAP compliance, and strengthen internal control processes.
- Cash and Audit Support: Record daily corporate cash activities, support year-end audits, and participate in cross training and ad-hoc analysis.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements for accounting processes and policies.
- Documentation: Maintain and organize financial records and documentation for audit readiness and compliance.
Qualifications for the Senior Corporate Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Experience: 3-5 years in accounting.
- Certifications: Active CPA preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, Pivot tables).
- Additional Knowledge: Basic cost accounting principles and financial statement consolidations are a plus.
