Atlantic K9, LLC is a privately owned and operated company in Boxford, MA that serves the north shore area. Atlantic K9 provides training for all daycare, boarding, and boot camp dogs with a foundation of positive behavior improving the relationship with the dog and their owner.

Basic Scope and Function: The Dog Trainer and Customer Care Associate supports the process of handling customer service (including sales, booking lessons and communicating with clients) as well as providing dog training services for our clients. The ideal candidate for this role shows patience, competence, confidence, respect, and strong organizational skills. Must love both dogs people!
Responsibilities Include: Assisting Customer Care Associates in job duties, including:
Customer Care
- Following sales leads, making sales calls, and selling lessons and packages
- Communicating with clients and proactively updating owners
- Handling Intake/Outtake procedures
- Responding to client care questions and issues
Office Administration
- Teaching new staff company software, processes and procedures
- Using Google docs and sheets, Google workplace platform, Word, Excel, customer relations management systems (CRM), Gingr dog software, Office at Hand, and HubSpot
- Ensuring that all tasks get done each day and jumping in when short staffed (in back of house) to help
- Assisting with owner’s dogs and puppy litters, when needed
Training
- Serving as a dog trainer, training both animals and people with their animals
- Providing training lessons (1 hour)
- Providing safety training and instruction to staff and continuing to monitor safety conditions
- Providing dog training when and where necessary, as schedule permits
- Ensuring all dogs are getting proper training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for role:
- Experience as a dog trainer in a multi-trainer environment (1 year minimum)
- Driver License Req
- Must be 18 years or older
- Excellent Customer care and customer service experience with clients and members of the public
- Experience training people as well as dogs
- Vet or Veterinarian Technician or Vet Assistant experience is a plus
- Ability to take the safety training seriously and act as a role model to staff
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor and ability to get along with others
- Ability to act with respect for all co-workers and clients
- Strong initiative and teamwork- does not wait for work to be assigned, but looks for things to do to help the whole organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including phone skills
- Strong attention to detail and focus on problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to work on multiple projects or tasks without losing the thread or failing to complete the work
- Ability to be flexible with schedule
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, experience with Google and Google Docs, any kind of dog or veterinary software (such as Gingr)
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software, such as Hubspot, SalesForce or similar
- Drivers’ license required, in case of veterinary emergency (to transport dogs)
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED required
Training facility experience required (one year)
Dog training experience required (one year)
Physical requirements:
: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Worker is handling animals and has regular daily contact with canine clients.
