Atlantic Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc. is hiring!
We are looking for a Garden Associate to join our team. This person will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and care of our beautiful plants as well as customer assistance and design work as needed. This position will be based out of our Freeport, NY location.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting and assisting customers in selecting houseplants, gift items and related merchandise.
- Assist with the maintenance and care of our plants and other related merchandise.
- Unloading deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality control.
- Pricing and restocking merchandise.
- Watering, cleaning and fertilizing plants as needed.
- Dusting, sweeping, cleaning and organizing merchandise and displays
- Provide customer service and answer questions about our product mix.
- Assist in creating inspiring displays.
- Making customers smile.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role in garden center customer service is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (temperatures can fluctuate between 40 degrees and 100 degrees)
- Ability to perform physical labor including but not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs. and physical labor in a warehouse setting during extended hours.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Punctual, reliable and willing to work on weekends especially during the months of April, May, June and December.
- Learn names and cultural requirements of annual and tropical plants.
Prerequisite:
- Associates degree or two year's relatable work experience.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
