Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator

Job Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM – 4:30PM

Location: Portsmouth, NH

Compensation: $17 - $18/Hr (Based on experience)

Atlantic Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, established in 1987, is a leading private, physician-owned healthcare organization specializing in orthopedic care and sports medicine. With a strong commitment to patient care and a track record of excellence, we are expanding our team and seeking a Patient Scheduler. This is a unique opportunity to join a team with extremely low turnover and high job satisfaction.

Our main practice is in Portsmouth, NH with additional offices in York, ME and Dover, NH (Opening in Fall of 2024).

Position Summary
Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic and positive team member to join our dynamic workforce. As a Patient Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and organized coordination of medical appointments, contributing to the smooth functioning of our healthcare facility. Your primary responsibility will be to liaise between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to schedule and manage patient appointments effectively.

Working Relations

Positions reports to: Kristen Davis, Supervisor and Stephanie Lewton, Operations Manager

Internal Relationships: Office Staff, Clinicians, SMAO and Procare Providers

External relationships: Primary Care Providers

Position Requirements

Licenses or Certificates: N/A

Education, vocational training, and experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills
  • 1 years of experience in medical scheduling or a comparable role is required.
  • Physically present and on site at SMAO required

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates a friendly and professional communication style.
  • Exhibits the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Possesses strong telephone communication skills, consistently upholding a professional and articulate manner.
  • Proficient in fundamental computer skills, including internet navigation, email correspondence, and familiarity with Microsoft/Excel applications.
  • Displays excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities

The Patient Scheduler tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responds to patient and provider calls, gathering necessary information for accurate scheduling and providing essential details to the clinical team.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment while upholding excellent patient care standards.
  • Listens to and addresses patient complaints related to appointment scheduling, aiming for resolution.
  • Utilizes various computer programs to review information and address patient inquiries.
  • Applies critical thinking skills to problem-solve and manage urgent matters effectively.
  • Stays current with changes in schedule preferences and office processes.
  • Required to be on-site and present according to the scheduled days.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
