We're currently seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Food and Beverage to lead our dining team and shape the culinary experience for our residents. The Director is a hands-on leader who oversees personnel, budget planning, resident satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary: The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for organizing, directing, and coordinating all FOH and BOH services/operations within the facility, providing an overall positive dining and culinary experience for all residents. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director.
- Ensures that all residents are receiving properly prepared and nutritious meals.
- Ensures that all standards of production and sanitation are being met within the department and that all standards of appearance are met in the residential dining room and the Health Center dining areas.
- Reviews policies and procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., to assure accuracy and relevance and makes appropriate changes when necessary.
- Makes recommendations for departmental staffing patterns and wage scale, responsible for hiring, terminations, and other personnel actions within department.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures concerning the Food Service Department. Makes written/oral recommendations/comments to administration regarding operation of and conditions in department.
- Insures personnel reviews are completed in a timely and equitable manner. Reviews and handles accordingly complaints/grievances within the department.
- Develops departmental budget.
- Maintains current records pertaining to department operations and insures that timely and accurate reports (monthly financial analysis, statistical reports, inventories, etc.) Are submitted at intervals determined by the Administrator.
- Properly delegates authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible departmental personnel as appropriate.
- Meets regularly and as needed with residents and resident committees to openly discuss concerns and plans.
- Develops in-service programs for department to meet state requirements, enhance service, and/or improve the overall quality of life for both residents and employees.
- Performs other specific work duties and responsibilities as directed by administration.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or a related field preferred; 5 years of progressive experience in food service management, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring diverse teams and large-scale food operations.
- Strong understanding of special diets, nutrition, and senior dietary needs.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing plans, and department operations.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Proficient in the use of software applications including Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word).
- Must be ServSafe certified within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must be a team player who is willing to give and receive effective feedback.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and multi-task.
- Solution oriented with problem solving and organization skills. Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude.
