Job Title: Fire Protection Designer
Job Summary:
The Fire Protection Designer is responsible for the complete design and management of fire protection projects, including design, submittal, surveying, and fabrication. Projects cover a range of fire protection systems, such as wet and dry sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and fire pump room layouts.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and create sprinkler system layouts.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure the system meets design requirements.
- Create material submittal packets and organize submittals for state and municipal agencies.
- Conduct site surveys to minimize field conflicts.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades.
- Conduct BIM coordination using Navisworks software.
- Prepare shop drawings and stock lists for purchasing and fabrication.
- Complete As-Built drawings for final installations.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and field personnel.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of sprinkler system design experience, with exposure to a variety of system types and project sizes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and HydraCAD; experience with Revit is preferred.
- NICET Level 2 certification in water-based systems layout.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and various sprinkler systems.
- Ability to complete designs within budgeted hours.
- Strong decision-making skills and judgment.
- Effective project management skills.

Pay: $52,780.61 - $100,000.00 per year
