Overview
This position is responsible for leading and directing teams focused on strategic sourcing activities for multiple spend categories with the goal of achieving significant reductions in total cost of ownership. The Director will strive to deliver year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving service levels and reliability. The Director works closely with key stakeholders in various business units and in corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Director attracts and develops the necessary talent to build and strengthen a strategic sourcing organization. This position will typically be responsible for $250-$500 million in annual spend and will report to the Vice President Procurement or a Sourcing Leader on critical procurement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Oversee the development and execution of strategies through the sourcing process for a portfolio of spend areas including, but not limited to; components, major assemblies, powerplant, avionics, and interiors.
- Oversee the process to select and manage suppliers
- Drive annual productivity improvements in each spend category
- Measure, monitor and track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact
- Monitor strategy implementation and the performance of Suppliers to ensure compliance with both contractual requirements, government regulations, company standards / policies and business expectations.
- Works closely with technical operations personnel to understand their requirements and to communicate procurement related information and data
- Leads negotiations of long term agreements with Suppliers at the corporate level
- Represent Atlas Air at industry events, and build supplier relationships
- Monitors marketplace in staying abreast of new suppliers and service offerings
- Oversees the execution of asset disposal strategy and execution
- Takes advantage of available training and educational resources to improve functional skills and knowledge
- Attract, develop, and retain talent base
- Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Salary Range : $129,000 - $174,500
Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience / level and skillset.
