Position:
The gunsmith apprentice position is ideal for those with a passion for learning who want to build a career in the field. The entry level position boasts ample room for growth and immense learning potential. Work alongside some of the industry’s best gun builders, making the premier 1911 style pistols.
Our ideal applicant is self-motivated, takes pride in their work, and can work as a team as well as independently. Applicants should also be adept at problem solving and be able and willing to learn new skills and apply new knowledge to their work.
This entry-level, full-time position is where most team members start. This position consists of firearm finish work and prepping parts for the builders. Fine detail work is a large part of the job, a steady hand and an eye for detail are a must. The ability to accurately measure and read measurements of small parts is necessary. Previous experience with hand tools including Dremel, sanders and files is preferred but not required. Hard working, detail-oriented individuals with the desire to learn are the ideal candidate.
Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Utilize hand tools such as foredoms and files for detailed hand work on pistols and pistol components.
- Deburr parts made by the CNC department for use in the manual machine shop.
- Assist in constructing sub-assemblies for manufacturing and retail sale.
- Modify parts and components to meet aesthetic and functional standards for use.
- Measure and qualify parts according to provided specifications.
- Remove cosmetic blemishes and tool marks on components and completed pistols.
- Work independently to achieve personal and department-based goals.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Proficiency with hand tools such as rotary grinders, punches and sanding rolls.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, venires, taper gauges and dial indicators.
- Some experience operating manual mills and lathes.
