As a Home Energy Auditor, you will be the expert homeowners trust to diagnose energy inefficiencies and recommend solutions. You will conduct home energy audits, identify inefficiencies, educate homeowners on rebates, and sell home performance improvements to help Maryland families create more comfortable, energy-efficient living spaces.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Conduct Home Energy Audits – Perform blower door tests, infrared imaging, HVAC assessments, combustion safety testing, and more.
- Identify Energy Issues – Diagnose insulation gaps, air leaks, HVAC inefficiencies, and duct system flaws.
- Educate Homeowners – Explain Maryland’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® rebate programs and home energy improvement services.
- Recommend and Sell Solutions – Design and present personalized home improvement plans to meet monthly sales goals.
- Install Simple Energy Upgrades – Directly install LED light bulbs, high-efficiency faucet aerators, showerheads, and hot water pipe insulation to provide immediate savings for homeowners.
- Use Cutting-Edge Technology – Leverage diagnostic tools and software to create accurate reports and proposals.
- BPI Building Analyst Certification (Required)
- 2 Years of In-Home Sales Experience (Preferably in energy, home improvement, or HVAC industries)
- 2 Years of Home Energy Diagnostic Testing Experience
- Valid Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record (Last 3 Years)
- Ability to Pass a Criminal Background Check (No felonies or violent misdemeanors)
- Excellent Communication & Sales Ability – You’ll be meeting with homeowners daily and need to build trust quickly.
