Energy Auditor / Inspectors
Total Home Performance is looking for an Energy Auditor to complete mostly residential inspections to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency. This role will be instrumental in identification of healthy home initiatives and improvements to help customer's homes, businesses, and multi-family residences become more energy efficient.
THIS ROLE WILL TRAVEL TO CUSTOMER HOME LOCATIONS TO PERFORM INSPECTIONS ACROSS MARYLAND and DELAWARE.
While the Corporate office is based in Easton, MD, we perform services across the entire Maryland- Baltimore-Washington, DC- metro regions and Delaware .
- Auditors will travel to scheduled visits to perform inspections of the building and related systems including mechanical, electrical, and process systems to determine energy consumption in each area or system utilizing a variety of tools and instruments to gauge, detect and collect field data related to energy use.
- Auditors will make recommendations for homeowners based on findings from the inspection/field visit to improve energy efficiency and outline appropriate proposals and recommendations of services to appropriate parties, agencies and organizations for approval.
- Complete reports and documentation of inspections.
- Use modeling software and resources to demonstrate recommendations and improvements and calculate potential savings.
- Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency; fields and answers related questions.
- Works closely with production teams on the construction and implementation of proposed improvements. Acts as a knowledgeable resource to internal teams to instruct them on possible solutions and alternatives to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with our internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
What success look like in a candidate:
- Certifications in weatherization such as BPI, Weatherization Training Centers, Lead, Mold, or other weatherization certifications
- Experience in energy audits, inspections, home performance improvement, healthy home initiatives

- Attention to detail. We deal with complex products and services so you must be open to learning new concepts
- Ability to think strategically and problem solve- Understanding the downstream impact of proposed solutions and improvements is critical
- Knowledge of general building construction including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general contractor support is helpful
- Ability to switch priorities and tasks quickly. Each day brings new and exciting challenges, be ready to accept the challenge!
- Strong level of resourcefulness to review and propose the solutions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
