Job Description
This role involves providing on-site maintenance and repair services to industrial equipment using a variety of tools and machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience with portable machining equipment, including mills, flange facers, boring bars, lathes, and welders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with site visits and job planning to identify equipment issues and develop repair strategies
- Performs repairs or modifications of equipment as needed, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results
- Operates various portable machining equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely
- Collaborates with the machine shop team to complete jobs when no field work is scheduled
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 5 years of mechanic and field machining experience preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with project engineers and supervisors
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities
- DOT certification required; must be 21 years or older
- Familiarity with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, is necessary
- Ability to read and interpret scope of work and blueprints
