What You’ll Do
- Participate with dedication in Atlas' Teaching Fellow program
- Teaching Fellows are new to education and desire intentional learning, observation, and practice that will allow them to excel within their own classroom after their first year.
- Teach under the guidance of exemplary teachers and instructional coaches
- Receive, retain, and apply feedback and guidance given from various coaching parties
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Help to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the assigned lesson plan(s)
- Develop meaningful relationships with students and make a tangible impact on the minds' and lives' of students
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
- Ensure that students are never left unattended in the classroom
- Be knowledgeable in the procedures for referring students with disciplinary problems
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Annual Salary: $36,750*
- Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date

*Prorated if the employee's start date is after July 1st
Qualifications
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Education) or in active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree
- Ability to pass required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
- A desire to become a full-time/qualified teacher with Atlas
- Ability to take feedback well and quickly implement changes
- Commitment and complete belief in the Atlas mission
- Demonstrated maturity, humility, self-reflection, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures
- Prior teaching experience with low-income, minority, or historically underachieving students (desired)
Essential Job Functions
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting
- Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
- Must be able to successfully abide by all policies and procedures of Atlas Preparatory School
