Atlas Roof Insulation & Wall Insulation products lead the industry in polyiso insulation boards and facer technology and performance in commercial and residential buildings.
Atlas Roof & Wall Insulation is seeking an Accounting Supervisor for the Diboll, TX manufacturing facility.
Accounting Supervisor Primary Responsibilities
- Help to ensure compliance with all Atlas Roofing Corporation financial policies.
- Direct the general and cost accounting functions at the plant level.
- Direct and coordinate month-end closing activities of the plant, including cross-charges, and accruals.
- Maintain the plant's fixed assets accurately, including additions, deletions, transfers and depreciation schedules. Ensure the general ledger is reconciled to the FAS records.
- Participate in the development of the plant annual budgets.
- Interact with Region Financial Control Manager, Corporate personnel, and independent auditors in the work and completion of annual financial audits, bank audits, and sales & use tax audits.
- Perform oversight of the plant Accounts Payable activities, including the appropriate timing of disbursements to vendors.
- Oversee the plant hourly payroll process to ensure that employees are paid timely and accurately.
- Direct and monitor the preparation of all daily and monthly reports, including all financial reports, as well as any other reports that reflect the financial condition of the plant.
- Perform varied analyses and tasks as requested by the Region Financial Control Manager.
- Must be knowledgeable in the plant manufacturing process. Must be able to apply this knowledge to the overall profitability of the plant.
- Oversee the raw material and finished goods inventory process.
- Monitor spending against approved projects and advise plants and corporate management of variances; prepare capital-spending data and submit to corporate at month-end.
- Regular, consistent physical attendance.
- Ensure cross training of plant accounting staff.
Accounting Supervisor Experience
- Required minimum of three (3) years' experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, general ledger (GL), garnishments, and month-end and year-end closings.
- Preferred manufacturing and a supervisory experience
Accounting Supervisor Education, Licenses & Certifications
- Associate's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; or continuous work toward a bachelor's degree in the accounting discipline at an accredited four-year college or university.
Accounting Supervisor Other Skills and abilities
- Accounting – knowledgeable and proven understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Review of customer billings for pricing, quantities, calculations, and posting. Routine decision-making within all areas of the accounting function
- Analysis - detailed and in-depth analysis of records, reports, and other information received from within and outside the organization.
- Confidentiality - prudent care and safeguarding of sensitive, proprietary financial information treatment of cost data, budgets, sales information, and financial reports.
- Communication - demonstrated interpersonal skills, frequent and regular contact with all levels of plant personnel, corporate employees, public accountants, customers, as well as other non-company personnel. Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas (internal and external).
- Computer Skills - demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new software applications quickly; normal care and safeguarding of personal computers, office machines, and software.
- Decision Making & Problem Solving – think through an issue, develop solutions, and take action to resolve a problem or potential problem.
- Ethics - commitment to the highest standards of moral and legal conduct.

- While performing the duties of this job, required to talk or hear, frequently required to sit and use hand to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
