ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other Duties As Assigned)
- Works with Logistic Coordinator to develop a daily schedule that meets customers shipping requirements.
- General understanding of the shipping/dock processes, quality standards, equipment, operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
- Load or unload trucks either by hand, forklift, or by pallet jack.
- Load to maximize board footage on trailers.
- Maintain load sheets.
- Verify counts.
- Adjust shipping documents accordingly.
- Unload incoming material and place in proper inventory area.
- Inspect incoming material for damage and accurate count.
- Notify supervisor of any discrepancies or damage.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and communicates with appropriate personnel to order replacement product as needed.
- Computer experience is required. Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft word. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP computer systems.
- Experience with shipping process: Able to create BOL’s, Packing slips, Route trucks, Print labels, and Schedule & Ship jobs in PeopleSoft.
- Experience in managing the dock and shipping personnel, with strong organizational skills.
- Manage incoming receiving process and related requirements
- Recognize and adhere to all best practices for safety (i.e. lock out/tag out, etc.).
- Must be able to operate forklift within the safety guidelines established by Atlas and remain certified to do so.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Performs any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be trained and familiar with Quality Management Systems & related SOP’s
- Must be verified by supervisor and be signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.
- Must be forklift certified within 2 months of hire.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
- Prior forklift experience preferred.
- Computer experience required
- Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken, preferred.
- Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools
